The first Iron Eagle was good in terms of flying scenes, but it was hollywood and we all know how their storylines go...

Red Tails was a load of bollocks, had a very B grade feel to it, surprising that George Lucas produced it and re-directed some of the movie too.

I might have mentioned it before, but BAT21 with Gene Hackman and Danny Glover is real good. Real aircraft doing real flying!

How close is it to the truth - or is it pure fiction using a real squadron as it's premiss?
The Tuskegee airmen do deserve that their tale be told - they had an enviable war record.

I'm not going to post these images here - but here are the URLs for anyone interested:

The article is about 40 years old and has been mouldering away in one of my magazine piles until I exhumed it today. Where it comes from only the deities will know. Whose copyright I am violating is anyone's guess. Paper is poor quality newsprint. However it is the first article I ever read about the Tuskegee airmen (the Red Tails) .

The most anticipated movie of 2012

Batman hits an all time low.

Batman has been missing for 8 years.

Bane says to Batman : your punishment must be severe

Director Christopher Nolan has said Bane the character was chosen because of the desire to test " Batman both physically as well as mentally"

What does Batman have to do with Fighters in movies? :?:

I just watched Red Tails.

Now I love war birds and I really respect the Red Tails, they did an outstanding job against all odds.
It was also great to see all those P-40s, Mustangs, B-17s, 109s and 262s in the air, even though it was CGI.

But couldn't they maybe made a little effort to get the acting and dialogue sorted. Even the storyline felt clumsy. They spent all the money on great visual effects while the rest of the movie come off as a cheap low budget movie.

Batmobile has a jet engine fueled by six tanks,
A pair of cannons mounted in the nose,
Has a rocket launcher,
Stealth mode, turns off the car's lights and cuts off the main engine. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor making the car very hard to find in dark places,
Rear flaps to assist brakes,

The third trailer released by Warner Bros. shows a flying Batmobile.

That doesn't make it a fighter jet.

I only mentioned those movies because of the flying sequences in them. Sky I thought you would have developed a thick skin by now to all the negative retorts you get, lol.

Word on the net seems to be that the movie is great, with some dark drama though. No fighter jets though, Denzel is an airline pilot whose actions during a crash landing end up saving most of the people on-board. However, it turned out that he was under the influence at the time...

I am just gonna say it, Denzel Washington is probably one of the best actors out there and for that reason alone I would see this film. Robert Zemeckis is quite capable of making this drama work.

:smt023 Good job Sky, you have redeemed yourselves from the Batman fiasco  , but seriously, I probably would not have known about this film, so nice find. =D>
