Why Not?

I actually think its a very good idea if properly managed. Think about all the potential skill and experience that they will be pulling in.

Granted frontline service would be very limited, but think of all the admin, support & maintenance functions that could be fulfilled.

I often thought that the SANDF should build up its reserve force in a similar way, at least affording everyone the opportunity to serve in one form or the other.

Russia Today is not exactly the most neutral and honest source for news about Western military topics - they are prone to putting a spin on it to please Putin :^o

Well RtD if you'd prefer the news from some dodgy western news source, oh no one has reported on it yet, sorry. I agree, I wish I was in good health, I'd love to join up again.

The fact that only RT is reporting this rather proves my point; it's a pretty transparent attempt by Putin's PR media machine to fabricate negative "news" about the West.

There are more than enough independent media outlets in the UK who have no great love for the current British government - if there was any real substance to this story they would have covered it.

Hmmmmm, maybe not quite a "fact" that only RT is reporting this?

The Guardian:

The Telegraph:

The Daily Mail:

Sky:

The content of the story in UK papers is very close to what RT reported.

Well, there we have it from four non "dodgy western news" agencies from the UK. Thanks for digging it up Mfezi.

The first I heard of this plan was on this forum months, or over a year ago, when they were talking about it. Now they have done it.
