I would like to know what the story is with the SAS Mendi? When last did she actually leave port? I’ve heard rumours in the past that she’s being used for parts for the other Valour class frigates but I’m not sure how true this is. She has been sitting near the dry dock for a few years now.

Over the last few years Spioenkop and Isandlwana have been the most used platforms in the class. I suspect the Amatola will be the most used platform over the next few years after her refit. Isandlwana is next in line for a refit but there’s no money in the kitty and the Spioenkop has been pushed hard over the last few years, culminating in her three-month Indian Ocean deployment earlier this year.

Yes, some of Mendi's equipment has been used on her sister-ships. She last sailed about 6/7 years ago, if i remember correctly?
I speak under correction, but i think she is currently in dry dock? If not, it must be Isandlwana.
Also, i think that the 'workload' has been spread pretty evenly across the other 3 vessels.
With Amatola taking the lead, Spioenkop following her and then Isandlwana. (based on my observations).

Again, this is just based on my observations. I could be wrong. :smt023

So Mendi might end up being first in line to get some of the MLU modifications?

Actually, now that you mention it...you could very well be right!
