Wow it took this long for the news to reach the press. Any case Drakies did not even need a second in drydock. From a close range 20mm shot. She has got some thick skin |

Yes a 20mm practice round will do very little damage if it hits simple steel structure, going through an electronic device would have been a bit more expensive! |

Guess something like aluminium. Needs to have the same weight and shape of a live round to provide identical ballistic characteristics. |

Some times it isvnot a opstion but yes it is preferd. Though think about it this way. Better DKGB was hit that say a fishing boat. I dont think there is any where safe to discharge in PE. Problem is why it was not cleared after shooting. Some where some one high up screwed up. But lets put it this way. |

Well let the BOI do its work and formulate its findings. Not the first time I have seen these things happen although many of the incidents quoted in the article used some substantial journalistic freedom regarding the facts. Can tell you one thing a signal saying "is that the best you can do" would have followed very shortly! |

Heard about this a day after the incident... Did any of you hear about the 20mm that was dropped in PE harbour? Into the ocean that is...apparently one from Drakkies... |

I doubt it was true. More like it was the barrel of a 20mm. Those things are heavy. |
