Great pics Gerard - I've never seen inside a SAAF B707... interesting coloured seat covers used in some areas!

Interestingly two of her sister aircraft from her SAA days are still flying in the Israeli Air Force.

These two were known as Durban (ZS-FKT later changed to ZS-SAG) and Pretoria (ZS-SAH) in SAA service both B707-344C models.

The first SAA B707 (ZS-EUW) known as Pretoria crashed in 1968

Nice pics, that interior really gives the aircraft's age away.

I think it was around two weeks old at the time.

1415, 1417 and 1419 were from Air France, 1421 and 1423 were from SAA.

Sweet photos Gerard :D

I'm curious as to which of the SAAF 707's flew the crew of Shackleton 1716 back to SA :?:

For the serial counters who haven't seen this yet :D

http://www.planelist.net/types.html

This site has got lots of xls files, for the registration, first flight, delivery date & history on MANY types of aircraft. I think you can fill in some of those blanks W407594F.

Cheers

Nope,

The previous SAAF aircraft used were a

Vickers Viscount named Casteel

SAA aircraft

and some of the aircraft now still in use.
