i am looking to dispose of my SAAF collection of a wide range of articles consisting of;
1. Numerous Box files with sleeved articles on SAAF going back some 50 years.
2. Box file of SAAF Museum (Ysterplaat) articles. pics, & some original newsletters from when we started same with Dick Hellyer ++
3. SAAF Museum Newsletters typically...1982/83
4. File of Old SAAF Airshow & Air Day Brochures
5. Many loose Newspaper cuttings (not filed or catalogued).
6. Period Photographs (eg 1977) + personal SAAF pics 70's. Also some 'original' photos from 2 Sqn Korea and WWII photos given to me and copies of these have been previously posted by me to this great site of Dean's.
7. Squadron History & Unit History articles & SAAF Camo articles.
8. Border War articles
9. Newspaper articles of SAAF aircraft crashes
10. An 'Air Pictorial" SAAF 50th Anniversary edition.
11: Other 1 off Magazines with SAAF features include... Paratus, Airnews, Scope!, Wings & Aeronews, Air Pictorial, Flight International, Air International, SA Flyer, World Airnews, Radio & Dagboek, Armed Forces, Scale A/c modelling, Flypast, Air Combat, Veg.

This is a comprehensive 2 trommel collection. Note they are NOT filed in any order but retained, usually in plastic sleeves for posterity and are not catalogued. Its just a personal treasure trove. The 2 large plastic trommels themselves are not included. The contents must be collected.
Please PM me if any interest in this rather large substantive collection.

Regards, Doug

From the many references the contents of your trommels have provided to this site over the years, I know that it is very deserving of a new good home. I wish you every success in the 'relocation' of the contents of those trommels.

Your 'Honorary Order of the Trommel' award says it all. :smt023

It is something I've been thinking about lately: What becomes of our collection before it's too late?

I'd love to take it over, but space...!

However, the early history of the Friends at Ysterplaat is deserving of being saved as Greg and I have been asked about the early days of the Friends. Perhaps I could collect those to give to the Friends?
