Three SARO lifeboats MK 3was purchased purchased with the Shackletons, the boats costing 40 000 pounds each on 23 July 1957
So what I have read up is just there were only one drop once and damaged beyond repair, sunk and the wreck was never found ( The late Eugene witnessed it.)
Boat 1 is at Swartkop

Boat 3 is at Ysterplaat

So the Boat that was damaged is Boat 2, still lying somewhere in Langebaan.
So I found this of photo of Boat 3 being dropped? does anybody have more info?

Also, am I correct, only three Shacketons were modified to carry the SARO boats,
Tail numbers:
1717, have picture
1721, have picture
and I am unsure, either 1722 of 1723,
