Just came across this. The criminal vermin probably never knew what hit them.

A question: I presume that legally this was legit, as the SF guys were aiding the police (STF) in their duties, as per the law. What would be the legal ramfications if it were SF alone?

The article doesn't mention SF at all, only that SAAF Oryx were exercising with the Police Special Task Force.

Two of the photos clearly show SF operators.

Note that the story is from 2009. It was, I believe, one of the many pre-2010 World Cup Operation Kgwele exercises. Joint STF/SF response ops were showcased a few times in the lead up.
