Tribute to the Chief

Lt Gen Carlo Gagiano, Chief of the South African Air Force (1 March 2005 - 30 September 2012), will hand over command of the SAAF to the Chief designate, Major General Fabian Zimpande Msimang at a Change of Command Parade this afternoon.
As a tribute to the outgoing CAF, he was flown to AFB Waterkloof during the AAD airshow on Sunday as part of a two-ship Vampire formation. The SAAF Museum Vampire then landed whereupon Gagiano was greeted by his wife Leonie and treated to a 'big bang' send-off.
