SA Air Force personnel in SA's first to train in US change management strategy
Date: 30 March 2004
Two senior members of the South African Air Force will be amongst the first South Africans to gain accreditation in the US-based Configuration Management II (CMII) program and have been tasked with studying the further implementation of that strategy throughout the Air Force.
Lt. Col, Andre Blignaut, SAAF Senior Staff Officer, Technology, said the program "will improve productivity, ensure data integrity and ensure that the correct things are done first time round." The SA Air Force delegates, together with nine other course goers, will become South Africa's first CMII accredited specialists by April this year.
CM is the method whereby all information needed to create or change a product or service, is managed to ensure maximum efficiency in that process. "I am positive that CMII will have a great impact on the broader SAAF," Blignaut says. "Once we have re-aligned our procedures, processes, policies and guidelines to CMII standards, we will ensure maximum efficiency in any process," says Blignaut.
