JARIC wins awards

Reconnaissance and intelligence are in fine fettle at AFB Waterkloof if the base awards are any criterion.
The base's Joint Air Reconnaissance and Intelligence Centre yesterday walked off with no fewer than five of the 14 trophies presented at the annual parade. Next best was 17 Squadron, based at nearby AFB Zwartkops, which took four trophies, including the Flying Unit of the Year award. The helicopter squadron also won the awards for operations, logistics and flying safety. The intelligence centre awards were for security, fitness, conservation and the best force structure element on the base.
