During a visit to Bruxelles, Belgium, South African Mnister of Defence Mosiuoa Lekota and his Belgian counterpart, André Flahaut, discussed bilateral issues. Our Belgian correspondent, Gerard Gaudin, states that they agreed to a training exchange concerning demining and the tranining of C-130 Hercules pilots (See News item dated 2 March 2006: SAAF C-130 pilot to be seconded to Belgium?).

Flahaut also said that a Belgian frigate or the ''Godetia'' (a support/auxiliary ship) should visit SA in January or February 2007.
