MPA Choice for SAAF
Date: 14 June 2000
The SAAF has begun studies to determine its options to replace the elderly C-47TP Dakotas currently used in the maritime patrol role.
Prices for surplus US Navy P-3B Orions have been provided, and negotiations have also been held with the Netherlands concerning its planned disposal of three P-3Cs. New aircraft could possibly be provided by CASA of Spain, which is proposing both the CN-235 and C-295.
