BK117 and Rooivalk helicopter news

Further to the media article of 1 September 2008 detailing the current status of the BK117 helicopter in SAAF service, it appears that a decision has been made to retain the helicopter in service. A posting on an internet aviation forum states that the BK117 "will be around for a while longer".
An article on Fin24 relating to weapons manufacturer Denel and it's reporting of a R347m net loss for the year ended 31 March 2008 - a 36.8% improvement on the previous year's loss of R549m. The article states further that "Cabinet has also decided that Denel's Rooivalk should be completed and certified to be deployed in the SANDF's peace support operations".
