Tenders issued in November

Armscor issued a number of important tenders relating to the SAAF in November 2008.
These include the following:
Secapem of France was requested to quote for the supply of banner flag target systems on 18 November. Secapen already supplies banner target systems to the SAAF.
A quotation was issued to Sofema of France on 19 November for the supply of Ulmer oxygen masks for the Hawk and Astra fleets, as well as the supply of Elno 500 helmets.
Also on 19 November, Martin Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd of the UK and Parachute Industries of SA (Pty) Ltd of Verulam, South Africa, were requested to quote for the supply of ejection seat components and sparers, as well as Hawk and Astra parachute components during the 2009/2010 financial year.
A R552 413.89 extension to the contract for the AFB Ysterplaat Helicopter Landing Facilities was awarded to Brimet (Pty) Ltd of Centurion on 20 November.
20 November also saw the extension to a contract awarded to Agusta S.p.A. of Italy for the on demand support for the A109 LUH helicopter worth R9 800 000.00 and an extension to the contract awarded to Epsilon Engineering Services (Pty) Ltd of Centurion for the certification data packs for aircraft bomb systems worth R1 823 687.15.
A request for quotation for assistance with the phasing-out of the Boeing 707 aircraft system was issued to Optilog Support Services CC of Hennopsmeer and Denel (Pty) Ltd (t/a Denel Aviation) of Kempton Park on 21 November.
A number of South African companies were requested to supply quotes for the maintenance, supply and support of airfield landing systems in the South African Air Force on 26 November.
27 November saw a request being issued to Volvo Aero Corporation of Sweden for the on demand support services for the Gripen fighter aircraft engine.
