Recent tenders issued

Armscor issued a number of important tenders relating to the SAAF during December 2008 and January 2009.
These include the following:
11 December 2008 saw the extension to a contract awarded to Thales Division Aeronautique of France for interim support of the SAAF C-130BZ avionic system worth R2 000 000.
Also on 11 December 2008, a request for quotation was issued to various companies for the supply of Alpha helmets.
A number of South African companies were requested to supply quotes for the supply of PCMCIA cards for the Aircraft 109 Light Utility Helicopter on 15 December 2008.
Denel (Pty) Ltd t/a Denel Aviation were awarded a R62 280 702 extension to their contract on 19 December 2008 for product support for the Oryx helicopter fleet.
A R53 698 708,38 extension to the contract for the Oryx life extension: Upgarde and overhaul of Makila 1A1 engines was awarded to Turbomeca Africa (Pty) Ltd on 29 January 2009.
