Final dual-seat Gripens arrive

It has been reported that the eighth and ninth Gripen D aircraft destined for the SAAF have arrived in Table Bay Harbour, Cape Town, today.
The two dual-seat Gripen Ds have serials 3908 and 3909. These are the final batch of the two-seater aircraft to be deliverd to the SAAF. Nine dual-seat Gripen D and 17 single-seat Gripen C aircraft were ordered in 1998. The first Gripen C is expected to be delivered before the end of this year.
As with the previous aircraft, they were taken via road to AFB Ysterplaat where they will be prepared for their flight to 2 Sqn at AFB Makhado.
