Tenders awarded during August 2009

Armscor issued a number of tenders relating to the SAAF during August 2009.
These included the following:
5 August saw the extension to an existing contract with Reutech Solutions (Pty) Ltd, t/a RDL, for the maintenance and support of DoD command and control communication transmission network for the SAAF. The extension to the contract is worth R5 092 968,00. A further R647 809,60 extension for a contract for the maintenance and support of the DoD command and control communication transmission network for the CMIS was also issued to RDL.
Gripen International was requested on 6 August to quote for Gripen aircraft repairs and procurement of mobile anchorage set inserts and 9 core ribbon cable.
An extension to an existing contract for product support services for the Falcon aircraft worth R5 560 198,00 was awarded to Execujet Maintenance (Pty) Ltd on 6 August.
Also on 6 August, Sysdel CC were awarded a further contract worth R2 314 277,55 for electronic support measures sub-systems onboard the Lynx maritime helicopter interim logistic support.
A request for quotation was issued to a number of companies on 6 August for the repair, service and modification of ground support equipment for the Gripen aircraft
A request for quotation was issued to Tau Aerospace (Pty) Ltd of Bedfordview and Societa Esplosivi Industiali SpA of Italy on 19 August for procurement of Mk-82 aircraft bombs and applicable fuzing.
On the same date, Tau Aerospace (Pty) Ltd and the Raytheon Company of the USA were requested to quote for the procurement of GBU-12 Paveway II systems.
A R1 345 736,00 extension to a contract with Sysdel CC for limited product supply support of the open loop tracker, Dakota Elint, Esm/Elint and Oryx Radar stand-off Jammer systems for the SAAF was awarded on 20 August.
On the same date, Grintek Ewation (Pty) Ltd was awarded an extension to their contract for maintenance of the Oryx communication jammer, Communication intelligence system and Dakota communication intelligence system and Dakota communication intelligence electronic warfare systems for the SAAF. This extension was valued at R1 056 757,00.
BAE Systems (Operations) Ltd Warton Aerodrome were awarded a R95 000 000,00 extension to their contract for interim product support for the SAAF's Hawk fighter aircraft on 20 August.
On 20 August, Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Aviation, was awarded a further R1 408 381,00 extension to their contract for the deployment of 21 Squadron at Denel Aviation.
Denel (Pty) Ltd, t/a Denel Dynamics, were awarded a R1 315 789,47 extension to their research contract for the optimization of lock-on parameters between a designation radar and beyond visual range missiles on 5 August.
