Details of Italy's arms package offer are also now known, the package including a Super AMX to meet the light fighter requirement, this being an upgraded AMX with advanced mission avionics and radar. Two alternative jet trainers are offered, the Aermacchi MB-339FD and the Yak/AEM-130, while for the light utility helicopter requirement, 60 Agusta 109s are proposed.

To meet the Navy's helicopter requirement, Italy has teamed with GKN Westland to offer the Super Lynx and for maritime patrol missions a suitably modified version of the Alenia/Lockheed Martin C-27J has been proposed.
